Target Audience New grad nurses or experienced nurses transferring to critical care areas.

Prerequisites Must have attended previous basic critical care class sessions required for their area of practice.
Course Description

This course day is to provide hands on practice with equipment commonly used in critical care units; chest tubes, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, ICP monitoring equipment, ventilators, DVT prophylaxis measures. Simulated "rounds" will be held on case study patients selected and presented by students to facilitate critical thinking and multidisciplinary patient care.

Cancellation Cancellation policy for certification class if employee is working on a unit that mandates the Basic Critical Care Course. Non-mandated units follow the cancellation policy for CE class.
