Oncology Symposium will be Friday, Oct. 12
Baptist Hospital East will host its 30th annual Topics in Medical Oncology Symposium, "Surviving the Cancer Journey" from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 at The Olmsted, located on the Masonic Home campus, 3701 Frankfort Ave., in Louisville.
Sessions are: "Use of Genetic Markers as Predictors of Cancer Treatment Benefit," Elyse E. Lower, M.D.; "Fertility Considerations in Cancer Treatment," Robert J. Homm, M.D., and Kit S. Devine, ARNP; "Living Beyond Cancer - Survivorship Issues," Nancy Houlihan, MN, RN, AOCN; "Contribution of Spirituality to Quality of Life," Carla P. Hermann, PhD, RN; and "Survival Issues for Cancer Professionals," JoAnne S. Morris, M. Div.
Baptist East designates this educational activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category I CreditsTM. The Kentucky Board of Nursing approves this program for 7.7 contact hours. Registration fees are: $25, Baptist Healthcare System employees (including volunteers and retirees); $30, Oncology Nursing Society members; $15, undergraduate students; and $50, physicians and other participants. Lunch is provided.
