Free 'Life after Cancer Treatment' talk to be offered Oct. 11


"Facing Forward: Life After Cancer Treatment," a free talk which is open to the public, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 in Baptist Hospital East's second-floor Education Center.

Nancy Houlihan, clinical nurse specialist in the cancer survivorship program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, will review the common issues faced by cancer survivors and their loved ones and the related information and resources for improving quality of life following cancer treatment.

There will also be discussion of a Cancer Treatment Summary and Survivor's Care Plan and the significance of the cancer experience in long-term healthcare.
