When your children are hurt or sick, you try to do everything possible to relieve their pain. Illnesses and accidents, however, don't always occur when your doctor's office is open. That's why Baptist Hospital East offers Trager Pediatric Emergency Care. Open 6 p.m. until midnight Monday through Friday and 2 p.m. until midnight on weekends and holidays, Trager Pediatric Emergency Care is staffed by board-certified pediatricians. Plus, the main waiting room has a specially designed area where children will feel relaxed and comfortable.
You can take comfort in knowing your child can receive the minor emergency care that he or she may need "after hours." And, at your request, we'll contact your pediatrician to ensure that your child gets the right follow-up treatment. If additional hospital care is needed, the specially trained staff of our Pediatric Unit will make your child feel right at home.
Planning Ahead for Emergencies
If you are going out of town and leaving your children in someone else's care, call the Baptist East Information Center at (502) 897-8131 and ask to be sent the "Consent for Treatment of a Minor" form. This form gives Baptist East's emergency department permission to treat your child in your absence. Simply complete the consent form (one form is needed for each child) and mail it back to Baptist East. The consent forms are kept on file in the emergency department.
