Many free computer classes are offered each month to Baptist Hospital East employees.
Classes include Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Crystal Reports. They are conducted in dedicated labs in the hospital's Education Center.
All new employees take a computer orientation class and are given basic training in the computer skills and programs that they will use on the job.
Computer use is important in all positions, as payroll information and benefits enrollment are found on the computer. The hospital's Intranet is an important destination to find everything from the day's lunch menu to policies and procedures. eStations or computer kiosks are located throughout the hospital for employees' convenience.
Many education offerings are online, including required Breeze modules, along with continuing education courses and in-service training.
A 24-hour self-learning lab is located on the hospital's first floor for clinical staff to complete required online in-service training at a time which best fits their schedule and needs.
