The Baptist Healthcare System Educational Assistance Program is a reimbursement program. You must be an employee of Baptist Hospital East for at least six months prior to the beginning of class, and the course of studies that you are taking must pertain either to your current position or to one that there is a future need for at Baptist East.

Reimbursement is based on successful completion of the course. The maximum assistance available each fiscal year (September through August) is $2,500 per person, based on your assigned FTE (full-time equivalent).

To determine your maximum fiscal year reimbursement, multiply your assigned FTE by $2,500. For example, .5 FTE x 2,500 = $1,250. Your reimbursement for each semester is calculated by multiplying your tuition costs by your assigned FTE. Reimbursement cannot exceed your maximum fiscal limit.

If you attend Bellarmine University or Spalding University, reimbursement can be paid directly to the school. Applications, which must be received no later than two weeks after the course begins, will be considered by the Educational Assistance Committee. Normally, applicants are notified only if they are denied. You may check the status of your request by calling Human Resources, ext. 7380.

Other guidelines for the program are:

• Return a completed and signed application no later than two weeks after the start of the class or classes; provide Human Resources with your official class grade(s) and tuition receipt at the completion of your class(es)
  
• Complete the class(es) with a grade of "C" or better, or "Pass."
  
• Provide Human Resources with your official class grade(s) and tuition receipt at the completion of your class.
