Health Information Management is online with a computerized medical record.

Department functions include:

• Preparing all paperwork for all medical services at Baptist Hospital East to be scanned into the electronic record system.
• Scans paperwork into the imaging system
• Online inpatient/outpatient analysis and re-analysis
• Online printing/faxing capabilities
• Responsible for medical report distribution
• Charting medical reports on inpatients for patient care.

Make-up of staff includes:

• Tech I
• Tech II
• Release of Information Tech
• Leads
• Supervisor
• Manager
• Birth Certificate Registrar

Special equipment or technology uses includes scanners, Quality Control Index, Pathway Image Manager (PIM) and Physician Portal.
