The Center for Child Development at Baptist Hospital East opened in 1982 to provide quality child care for the children of hospital employees and in the surrounding community.
Committed to quality
Children need guidance and encouragement to learn and grow. Staff at the Center for Child Development strive to provide a quality program which promotes physical, social, language, adaptive and cognitive development. A variety of materials and methods are used in planning activities and lessons to meet the individual needs of each child.
Enrollment
Children from 6 weeks old to 5 years old are welcome at the Center for Child Development. Children may be enrolled at anytime during the year. However, once capacity is reached, families are placed on a waiting list until space is available. All children must have a valid Kentucky Immunization Certificate and parents must complete an enrollment form before a child begins classes at the Center for Child Development.
Meals and Snacks
The Center serves three nutritionally balanced meals a day in addition to an afternoon snack. Lunch and dinner menus feature hot, nutritious foods. Menus are posted weekly. Baby food is provided, as well as Enfamil Lipil with Iron formula.
Safety comes first
The Center for Child Development is a safe, secure facility. Classrooms are maintained and organized so children are always in view of staff. The playground is fenced and maintained in good repair. Staff members are trained in first aid and can handle bumps and bruises. If there is a medical emergency or accident, parents will be notified immediately.
Help from home
Parents are always welcome at the Center for Child Development. Parents may visit whenever possible. Field trips are held periodically, and parents may join their child for the day. All of our activities are especially rewarding when they can be shared with parents.
