Sharing Our Stories breast cancer support group

Sharing Our Stories (SOS) is a support group for women diagnosed with breast cancer within the last 18 months. SOS meets for eight sessions on Mondays from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Baptist Health Louisville Cancer Resource Center, located in the Charles and Mimi Osborn Cancer Center, 4003 Kresge Way.

Participants will develop coping strategies to take them from surviving cancer, along the path to thriving as they share in their stories and offer support. Various topics are discussed, including potential changes in the body image, post-treatment fatigue, lymphedema awareness and the importance of a survivor care plan.

Art therapy will be introduced to participants, along with many community opportunities for support and encouragement.

Nurse Navigator Tina Toole-Harper, RN, and Community Cancer Resource Nurse Sr. Barbara Nicholas, RN, serve as group facilitators.

Participation is free and limited to 15 members. For more information, or to register for the group, call the Baptist Health Information Center at (502) 897-8131 or email

Sharing Our Stories (SOS) is sponsored by Baptist Health Cancer Care and fully funded by Links for Life.
