Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding
Through a series of small incisions in the abdomen, an FDA-approved LAP-BAND Adjustable Gastric Banding System is placed around the top of the stomach to create a smaller stomach pouch.
This band, which is secured in place, helps you feel full and control hunger. The LAP-BAND is adjustable, meaning the inflatable band can be tightened or loosened to help you further reduce your food intake. This adjustment can be made in the doctor’s office and does not require a hospital visit.
The procedure is outpatient surgery, meaning you can expect a hospital stay of less than 24 hours.
