Ted Hodge

Ted Hodge, Ph.D., ACPE Supervisor

Ted served churches in Virginia and Indiana and has served as Director of Pastoral Care at Baptist Hospital East since 1975. A native of Virginia, Ted received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carson Newman College and a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. A certified Supervisor in the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) since 1978, he is also a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC). He has served on the Board and as Treasurer of ACPE and of the Foundation for CPE, chair of the nominating committee and as Chair of the East Central Region of ACPE. Ted’s clinical area in the hospital is primarily in surgery.

 

Jan Cox-Gedmark

Jan is a native of Georgia. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia and a Master of Religious Education and Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. A certified Supervisor in ACPE since 1982, she has served as an Adjunct Professor at Southern Baptist Seminary and as Chaplain at Frazier Rehabilitation Center and Supervisor at Audubon Hospital. Jan is author of Coping with Physical Disability. Jan is chaplain for Psychiatry and co-chair of the hospital Green Team. 

 

Bob Cunningham

Bob is a native of Indiana. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Evansville and a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. A Clinical Member in ACPE since 1982, he is also a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Bob was formerly chaplain at the Primary Care Center in Louisville and has a private practice at Assessment & Treatment Alternatives in Louisville. Bob is chaplain for the medical/surgical units and Chair of the Ethics Committee and Employee Financial Assistance Program.

 

Dale McAbee

Dale is a native of South Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University, a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Columbia Seminary. Dale is a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Dale has served as the Choir Master in several churches and is currently at Concordia Lutheran Church in Louisville. Dale is chaplain primarily for the Rehab unit, Chemical Dependency and Psychiatry.

 

JoAnne Morris

JoAnne is a native of Arkansas. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ouachita Baptist University and a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. JoAnne is a Clinical Member in ACPE. She is currently completing a Doctor of Ministry at Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, has a private practice and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate. She also is an Adjunct Professor at Bellarmine University. JoAnne is chaplain for the Palliative Care and Oncology Units.

 

Jim Ivey

Jim is a native of Tennessee. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Technological University, a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Doctor of Ministry from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. Jim is a Clinical Member in ACPE and has served as a pastor and associate pastor in Virginia. Prior to seminary Jim was a police officer. Jim is Chaplain for Home Health and the Cardiology Units.

 

Karen Farris

Karen is a native of Louisville. She is the secretary for Pastoral Care and also for the Surgery areas. Karen has served in other positions at Baptist including the Business Office. Karen is responsible for helping with organization and communication in the day to day operations in Pastoral Care. She is a vital part of helping to orient the new students in our CPE programs.
