Chemical dependency programs

Baptist Health Louisville's Chemical Dependency Recovery Program offers:

Baptist Health Louisville offers a wide range of specialized chemical dependency programs for adults age 18 and older who suffer from addictions. Individualized treatment involves a team approach specifically designed to address all aspects of the addictive disorder - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Our mission is to provide the highest quality care safely, compassionately and respectfully.

Confidential assessment

Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation when a licensed professional will help you determine the best method of treatment for you. The evaluation includes obtaining information regarding your medical or psychiatric conditions, addictive behaviors, previous treatment experience, and the support of family, friends, and employers in the recovery process. Staff members are available to answer your questions and schedule appointments 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Treatment programs

Partial Hospitalization for Co-Occurring Disorders (PHP-C) is an integrated dual-diagnosis approach to treat mental health and substance abuse disorders together. Treatment in PHP-C is directed by a psychiatrist, who sees the patient at least twice each week. Upon discharge, patients may be referred to the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Intensive Outpatient Program provides treatment in day or evening sessions so the patient may work or attend school. In addition to group therapy, patients attend classes to practice daily living skills to lead productive lives free of mood-altering chemicals and behaviors. Patients are required to attend 12-Step meetings while in IOP and should make this a part of their daily lives after discharge. Involvement of family and friends is vital. Our goal is to break the chain of addiction, often spanning generations.

Continuing Care Program supports patients in ongoing recovery after successful completion of the IOP. With a focus on relapse prevention and 12-Step meeting attendance, counselors help patients make further progress on issues identified during treatment.

Outpatient Services offers individual, couple and family therapy. Treatment focuses on promoting understanding of the disease and recovery process.

Check with your health insurance provider regarding your plan's coverage of chemical dependency recovery services.
