Cardiac Rehabilitation publishes second cookbook

Baptist Hospital East’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Department has published its second cookbook of quick and easy, heart-healthy recipes, More from the Heart Rock Café. The recipes were developed and compiled by dietitians in the department.

“Heart-healthy cooking carries many demands in today’s society,” said Marsha Hilgeford, Cardiac Rehabilitation dietitian and co-author. “Meals need to be easy to prepare, colorful and appealing. Keeping this in mind, meals must also be low in fat and high in fiber.

More from the Heart Rock Café combines all these demands to provide recipes that will truly be easy to incorporate into the quest for a healthy lifestyle,” Hilgeford added. “Our recipes are designed to use the fewest ingredients in the shortest amount of time to produce delicious, heart-healthy foods.”

The books are available in the Baptist East Gift Shop for $12 each, or may be purchased by credit card and shipped for $15 by calling the Baptist East Information Center at (502) 897-8131.
