Baptist Health Louisville wins Best Hospital award
Readers of Louisville Magazine have voted Baptist Health Louisville as Best Hospital in the 2010 Best of Louisville® awards.
This is the 25th year for the magazine to present the awards, based on voting by its readership. The “Best Hospital” category, which had not been on the ballot for several years, was last won by Baptist Louisville in 1999.
The July issue of the magazine lists and profiles both the Readers’ Choice and Critics’ Choice winners in this year’s balloting.
Receiving the Best of Louisville designation is icing on the cake for the 519-bed hospital, with its emphasis on helping patients feel better. Toward that goal, Baptist Louisville has opened facilities in the community for greater patient convenience, including the Baptist Eastpoint outpatient services center near Anchorage. Eastpoint offers radiation therapy and outpatient surgery, plus physical therapy for adults and children, diagnostic imaging (including digital mammography and MRI), cardiovascular testing and physician offices, including one for Baptist Medical Associates. A Baptist Urgent Care is open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
In recent months, Baptist Louisville has been named among the Best Places to Work in Kentucky for the sixth consecutive year, was a finalist in the first-ever Acorn Awards for “green practices,” and snared the top spot in the healthcare category of the We CARE Awards presented by Republic Bank for community service.
