Combat osteoporosis with six-week strength-training program

Mon, Sep 13, 2010 noon

Be pro-active and improve your posture, balance and core stability with a strength program designed to combat osteoporosis Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 13-Oct. 20, from noon-1 p.m. at the Baptist East/Milestone Wellness Center.

One in four women over age 50 are affected by osteoporosis, and one in eight men are subject to bone loss, as well.

“The primary goals of the program are strengthening of the spine and hips and fall prevention,” said Nancy Carroll, RN, a certified personal trainer and Pilates instructor, who will lead the course.

The class is $180 for members and $240 for non-members.

Class size is limited. Participants can sign up at the Service Desk, or learn more by contacting Nancy at (734) 812-3269 or nvcarroll@insightbb.com.

The Wellness Center is located at 750 Cypress Station Drive.
