"I look forward to coming to work everyday. The people at Baptist are the most caring people I know. Being in maintenance, I get to see a lot of behind-the-scenes action that most don’t see. People are always willing to lend a hand, whether it’s for patient care, helping visitors find their way, or moving out and holding an elevator for a patient on his way for a test, from Environmental Services bringing fans and bed extensions to catering associates bringing hot food to patients with a smile. The nursing staff patiently listening and consoling and doing their best to bring health back to our loved ones. That is what Baptist East is to me and that is why I love working here."

"I enjoy working at Baptist Hospital East because – as our former motto stated – "family is spoken here." I feel like my co-workers are like family. We all look out for each other, and would not hesitate to be there for someone when needed. So, when I'm away from home, I'm not away from family. The support that is fostered amongst co-workers allows us to treat patients like family as well. We are allowed a great freedom to treat and work with patients in a way that makes them feel part of this family. These are the reasons I stay."

"I like working at Baptist East because of the people I encounter here on a daily basis. I stay here also because I enjoy my job, I like to think of each patient in this hospital as a family member, therefore I do what I have to do to make sure (everyone in) Materials Management has done the best job that they can to ensure each patient has everything they need during their stay here. This is the rewarding part of my job. Baptist East has the greatest bunch of people employed here also. I have not met one person that I do not like. Since we all have to work I am very thankful my time is spent at Baptist East."
