"My family has chosen Baptist for as long as I can remember. My first actual memory of Baptist Hospital East is when I was five and our glass storm door shattered around my right arm. My parents rushed me to the Baptist East Emergency Department. I vividly remember the ER nurse trying to give me a sucker while the doctor tried to stitch up my arm.
"When my dad needed bypass surgery in 2004, there was no deliberation as to where it would take place. Likewise, I never questioned once where I would deliver both of my children. The heartfelt care and expertise all of us have received at Baptist East through the years made my decision where to practice internal medicine a very easy one. My goal is to provide my patients with the dedication, compassion, and expertise that the physicians and staff have provided me and my family throughout my lifetime."

"Baptist East has been a special place for me to work. I began working there many years ago as an orderly. Sometimes I joke with the current orderlies that — by myself — I was able to handle the duties of an orderly for the entire hospital. That is a true statement although the hospital has grown considerably since then. In spite of the growth, the hospital still maintains a friendly atmosphere. As a testimony to the great work environment, many of the nurses I worked with years ago are still there.
"Now, as a practicing physician, there are different things that make Baptist East an attractive place to work. Compassionate and excellent nursing care, a well-run operating room and state-of-the-art ancillary services are important features for me. But the thing that has impressed me the most is the willingness of the administration to work out ways to care for patients in difficult circumstances."
