Baptist Health Louisville has over 350 adult Volunteers who contribute more than 60,000 hours to the hospital each year. We are very fortunate to have such a large group of Volunteers, who give their time to our hospital and other areas in our community. In addition to the traditional volunteer areas, such as staffing the information desks, delivering flowers, newspapers, magazines, and electronic greeting cards (eCards) to patients, Volunteers operate the hospital Gift Shop, work in nursing and surgery units and participate in programs to assist patients during their stay such as our patient rounding and No One Dies Alone programs.
In addition to contributing their time, many Volunteers are members of the Baptist Health Auxiliary. Auxiliary members hold various events to raise money for the hospital. Those funds along with proceeds from the hospital's Gift Shop are donated back to the hospital. Funds are used to purchase new medical equipment, help meet patients' emergency needs, and support projects such as the making of pillows for recovering surgery patients. The Baptist Health Auxiliary has donated the over $1.5 million to the Baptist Health Foundation for construction on our Park Tower and the purchase of a biplane imaging system in the past seven years.

Junior Volunteer Program
Baptist Health Louisville offers a Junior Student Volunteer program for teens ages 14 through 18 in the Fall, Spring and Summer. Our program has proven to be an excellent opportunity for students, who are considering a career in health care. The Junior Student Volunteers contribute many volunteer hours by helping out in nursing units, clinical and service areas, our onsite daycare and many other areas of the hospital. The program provides students with the experience of working in a hospital, as well as a good reference for their first jobs.
Each session has a specific starting date and generally lasts for 7 to 8 weeks. All new Junior Student Volunteers must attend an Orientation Session, which is scheduled the week before the session begins. Applications are available online and you can Click here to complete an application. Upon submission of an application, you will receive an email indicating which session you will be eligible to participate in. We have one of the largest programs in the state, so depending on the number of positions available, we must limit the number of students accepted into each program. Students must commit to volunteering for at least six weeks of the session. Students will be contacted to discuss their application and possibly set up an interview. During the interview, we will discuss the position and schedule which would be the best match.
