Maternity classes



Baptist East offers maternity education classes on a variety of topics. These classes are designed to provide education and confidence in the journey of becoming a parent. Classes feature information on healthy pregnancy, labor and delivery, as well as caring for the new baby. There are also classes for dads, siblings and grandparents.

Classes are very popular, so register early. You can register online*, or by calling the Baptist East Information Center at (502) 897-8131. *Opens in a new window.

You can print the class schedule to select your class choices, then contact the Information Center.  View the list of class descriptions and times in the menu below.  The registration form may also be mailed to: Baptist Hospital East Information Center, 4000 Kresge Way, Louisville, KY 40207.

Classes are free unless noted.
If date says full - please do not register for that date and choose another date.

Take a tour of Baptist East's Labor & Delivery department, the Mother/Baby Unit and the newborn nursery. The tour offers general information about having your baby at Baptist Hospital East, including registrations, where to park, what to bring and visitation policies. It is free, but space is limited. Please attend only on the date for which you register. For your convenience, take this tour in conjunction with another maternity class.

If you liked the convenience of registering for classes online, remember that you can complete your patient registration online, too. Baptist East recommends pre-registering at the beginning of your eighth month of pregnancy. You will still have to check in on the Labor and Delivery unit on the second floor of the Baptist East Medical Pavilion, 3900 Kresge Way, although your admission will be easier and take less time.
